MIDI Track/Channel Merge Tool

This tool merges all tracks and channels into a single piano channel, supports multiple files at once, and automatically fixes overlapping-note problems by favoring repeated shorter notes over conflicting sustained notes.

MIDI Piano Merger

Turn each MIDI file into one piano track. Combine channels, preserve repeated notes, and prepare a whole batch at once.

Removes long notes covering multiple shorter strikes of the same key, then trims remaining overlaps. Chords are preserved.

Advanced options

Choose files to get started. Your originals are never changed.

Output: Standard MIDI Type 0, one track, channel 1 (internally 0), Acoustic Grand Piano. Tempo, attack timing, note velocities, and standard song text are retained; repaired note lengths may change. Sustain, sostenuto, and soft pedals are combined using the strongest active value.

Piano-safe conversion removes device-specific SysEx, original instrument selections, and incompatible routing metadata. It is not a full-arrangement-to-piano arranger or a floppy-disk image writer. Listen to the result before using it on an instrument.

How smart repair works

Notes are matched to their note-offs in their original track, port, and channel first. A long note is removed when it contains at least two shorter notes of the same pitch with distinct attacks, and meets the duration ratio above. Notes beginning together become one strike; smart mode keeps the shortest. Any remaining note is released before the next strike of that same key. Other pitches are unaffected.

Repeated strikes and a held note cannot both remain independent on one piano key. This heuristic intentionally favors the repeated notes and may remove an intended sustained voice. Review the change report and compare with the original. Type 2 MIDI files contain independent sequences and must be exported separately before processing.
