TEXT: Usually played either in C or Eb - I have modulated fairly freely between these (and Gb) in the introduction before playing in tempo and staying in Eb. The First 8 Bars are often thought of as 'slash' chords - a series of triads over, in this case Eb Ba
MARKER: Last 16 bars of the song played freely
MARKER: Black note glissando with sus pedal down on GbMaj7/Eb
MARKER: Modulating from Eb to C
MARKER: G13
MARKER: Becomes G phrygian (i.e. an Eb scale is used over a G bass note)
MARKER: Diatonic chords from Eb Major over G Bass (i.e. G phrygian) - note no accidentals.
MARKER: Abrupt change to C Major (Lydian)
MARKER: E Phrygian
MARKER: Abruptly to Gb Lydian
MARKER: To Bb7sus
MARKER: To Bb7b9
MARKER: Left H plays Ab and Bb, R Hand plays B,D,E,G
MARKER: Trio starts - I tried to play in the style of Chick Corea/Keith Jarrett trios with lots of space
MARKER: On bars 1-7 and bars 17-21 I mainly thought of triads with neighbour tones.
MARKER: Gb/Eb - triad arpeggio with some neighbour tones
MARKER: F/Eb - F triad used
MARKER: E/F
MARKER: Eb - simple triad with neighbour/or passing tones.

MARKER: Scale fragment played in thirds - over Am7b5 D7alt
MARKER: More melodic figures based on triads
MARKER: Playing very lightly - no pedalling
MARKER: On Eb a little repeating figure on 5th and lower neighbour is developed with another tone above that changes as the chords change
MARKER: G is lowered to Gb in figure
MARKER: Lower note A is 3rd of F

If you have a Bluetooth-MIDI adapter installed in your Disklavier and are using an app (such as PianoStream), you can stream these MIDI files right from your Apple device to your piano.

Otherwise, you can put them on a USB stick. Files will be playable natively on newer Disklaviers, such as the Mark IV, E3, and ENSPIRE. You can see my Disklavier compatibility table to see which instruments support USB.

For older generations of Disklavier using floppy disks or Nalbantov USB emulators, see my article on converting MIDI files to E-SEQ and creating PIANODIR.FIL.
