TEXT: [email protected] Done after listening (again) to Keith Jarrett's 'Live in Tokyo' CD. After the rubato first chorus I tried to get the group improvisation kind of feel with bass and drums supporting the piano improvisation. MARKER: Rubato opening chorus MARKER: Chromatically descending chords on each melody note MARKER: Bass and drums in - start is close to the original melody MARKER: Non chord tones on beat resolve up 1/2 step to chord tones. (appoggiatura) MARKER: Drummer picks up sticks MARKER: More appoggiatura but with chords MARKER: Bass player begins to walk MARKER: Block Chords approached from a step above. MARKER: Ending uses a pedal on C MARKER: Fade

If you have a Bluetooth-MIDI adapter installed in your Disklavier and are using an app (such as PianoStream), you can stream these MIDI files right from your Apple device to your piano.
Otherwise, you can put them on a USB stick. Files will be playable natively on newer Disklaviers, such as the Mark IV, E3, and ENSPIRE. You can see my Disklavier compatibility table to see which instruments support USB.
For older generations of Disklavier using floppy disks or Nalbantov USB emulators, see my article on converting MIDI files to E-SEQ and creating PIANODIR.FIL.
