# Song Title Source File

This tool creates a clean, copy-ready song list from a Nalbantov HFE file. Upload a supported HFE disk images, and this tool will extract song titles from MIDI and Yamaha E-SEQ/FIL files inside that HFE when available. It will then create and format the results into an ordered list that is easy to copy, verify, and share.

Please note that all files are deleted within 24 hours. Please see my Privacy Policy for more details.

What this tool does

This HFE song list generator is designed specifically for Nalbantov HFE files used with older Yamaha Disklavier workflows. Upload a supported HFE image and the tool will look inside the archive, identify compatible song files, pull out the embedded titles when possible, and generate a simple song list along with a verification table.

  • Reads supported 720 KB and 1440 KB HFE files
  • Extracts titles from MIDI and Yamaha E-SEQ/FIL songs
  • Builds a clean, copy-ready song list
  • Shows a verification table with filenames and parsed titles

Best results

This tool works best when the songs on the disk are stored in numerical order. For instance, starting song filenames with 01, 02, 03, and so forth, is a great way to order them. It is designed to sort songs based on those leading numbers, which helps preserve the intended order of the archive. If the filenames are not numbered consistently, the results may still work, but the final order may need to be reviewed.

Why this is useful

Nalbantov HFE files are difficult to browse directly, and titles aren’t immediately visible. Instead of opening the archive manually and checking files one by one, this tool quickly turns the contents into a readable list. That makes it easier to document disks, organize collections, confirm song order, and prepare titles for websites, spreadsheets, or customer records.
