2011 eComp Winners
These folders are performance-capture MIDIs from the Minnesota International Piano-e-Competition and its related junior events. The main competition was founded in 2002 (the “-e-” reflecting its use of internet + Yamaha Disklavier technology). Some parts of the official website are still available on the Wayback Machine.
The 2002/2004/2006/2009 sets align with the International Piano-e-Competition (auditions/recitals/finals), while 2008 and 2011 are explicitly labeled as ePiano Junior Competition captures (including a “virtual audition round” in early 2008, and sessions captured in spring/summer 2011).
The “Winners” folders are the curated prize-winner/recital/finals selections; the “eComp” folders are broader round-by-round captures (for example, 2009 includes an “audition round” captured in January, and separate files labeled “finals” captured June–July).
The MIDI text embedded in individual files often references the round type (“audition,” “recital,” “finals”), and even capture locations like St. Paul, New York, and Paris. Many files also note post-processing for distribution by Zenph Studios, Inc. / Zenph Sound Innovations (including credits to John Q. Walker on some 2011 junior files).
